Say Bye to Dry Hands
Let's talk dry hands.
If you're like me, you've been dealing with a lot of dry hands lately from all the hand washing that's going on, due to the pandemic. I have personally been dealing with severe eczema for almost all my life. So I can assure you that dry, flaky, itchy, red, irritated skin is nothing new to me!
It took years of buying and trying expensive hand-care products to discover what works and what doesn’t. I’m going to share with you three underrated but absolute must-have products when it comes to taking care of your hands.
Before I get into it, I want to mention that all the products are free from artificial preservatives, colours, fragrances, chemicals and parabens. Furthermore, they are 100% natural, completely handmade, and never tested on animals. These qualities are generally what I look for when I purchase any beauty products.
1. Nova Scotia Fisherman Rescue Balm
This rescue balm has changed my life. A little of this goes a long way. It has the earthiest smell that will make you go crazy over it. Also, not to mention this product is made right at home, in Canada. Their website offers free shipping on a minimum order of $50. If you want to take advantage of that, I highly suggest checking out their lip balms. Those bad boys has saved my lips from being constantly chapped.
2. Neem & Chamomile Skin Butter
This Neem & Chamomile skin butter is basically what the name implies it to be. It has a buttery texture that melts right into your skin, and it has this phenomenal pepperminty earthy smell. I came across this product a while back at a handmade market in Vancouver, BC. This specific product seems to have been discontinued, but I found a very similar one on their website called the Neem & Tea Tree Skin Butter. This company also makes amazing hand butter sticks that are perfect for when you need that extra hand-care on the go. Their hand butter sticks are less greasy and absorb into the skin just as beautifully. My top picks are Love and Calm. For my Vancouverites, this is as local and handmade as it gets.
3. Egyptian Magic
This last one, I purchased it for my mother a while back, and she hasn't stopped raving about it. In her own words, "Go out and buy yourself some. I wake up every morning with silky soft baby skin." I initially had purchased it for her to use for her face, but it was too greasy to her liking. Now, she uses it for her body and hands, and she loves it! I'm also addicted to it. It has no smell, and it has the texture of a lighter version of Vaseline Jelly. The great thing about this product is that it's all-purpose. Which means it can be used on any external surface of the body. I use it as a hand moisturizer, face moisturizer, an eye cream, a scar treatment, a hair mask, a makeup remover, and anything else you can think of. It's basically magic.
Just a side note, since this is such a popular product, there are a lot of counterfeits on Amazon and eBay. I suggest buying it straight from their website or a reliable reseller.
If you live in Canada, you can also find the Nova Scotia Fisherman products and Egyptian Magic on Well.ca. Use code goldenfeels for $10 off your next purchase of $40 or more.
